Rev Brogdon was born in Jackson, Michigan into a family of devote, sincere fundamentalists.

“Since my mother was the church pianist/organist I spent what free moments I had away from school dusting a pew. When I reached college age it was understood that I would attend the school that supported and promulgated our dogmas, tenets and beliefs. Interestingly, it was during this period that I began questioning much of what was being presented as truth. During my senior year I fell in love and soon married the sheriff of the county.

At that time the sheriff resided in the county jail so for the next twelve years that became my residence, one abutting the home of prisoners. While there I procured a Master’s Degree from Ball State University, a valuable step for my chosen field, but secondary in importance to the life experiences gleaned while living in my current home. Our two little boys, ages ten and eight, suffered the loss of their father, my husband, from an unexpected heart attack, leaving us adrift and confused.

Considerable time was required for healing, especially for the boys who viewed their father as invincible, powerful and the rock upon which our family resided. During this period I became an agnostic, convinced that there was a God but one who was beyond reach, understanding and unknowable—out there somewhere doing whatever a God is supposed to do. My focus turned to my immediate family and the need to supply love and financial security. I reentered the school system, teaching for the next thirty years. With stress and burdens mounting, I discovered and entered a class on Transcendental Meditation.

Friends suggested and steered me to multiple books dealing with psychic and spiritual matters. The stage was set when a long time professor friend flew in from New Zealand (her adopted country) and offered to meet for lunch. It was she who carried the name and phone number of the Late Rev. Gladis Strohme and insisted that I make an appointment with her. Little did I know how drastically my life was about to change. Little did I know that guidance was being provided from a nebulous world that I wasn’t even sure existed. From that initial meeting I was convinced that I had met a deeply spiritual, humble and wise woman who would be willing to take my hand and guide me in a pathway that would lead forever upward and onward.

Being a well-known and seriously developed medium she still maintained a delightful sense of humor. A bond formed almost immediately which would last as long as she remained on this earth plane and, gratefully, even into the next. 2 From that time forward my search has been for growth, understanding and progress. A love for learning, delving deeply into our philosophy, and personal spiritual attainment are firmly embedded and will never end—even when I reach the next sphere. My prayer is that I may teach our beliefs as honestly and as sincerely as they were presented to me and that lives will be touched in a profound way. It’s a life changer!”

Rev. Donna, a gifted and respected Metaphysical Teacher, Trance Medium, Medium, and Spiritual/Reiki Healer (Reiki Master/Teacher) has been a life-long student of Metaphysics and is a clear channel for those in the world of spirit. Gifts of various forms of mediumship manifested in her life as a child and her earliest recollections of spirit are as a toddler. During those formative years, Donna was gently guided and encouraged by her mother, Doris, who was a very gifted clairvoyant.

Rev. Donna attended Southern Connecticut State College (now a university!) in New Haven, Ct. with a concentration in Liberal Arts. She also lived in Stuttgart, Germany from 1967 until mid 1969.

After years of focused study, inquiry, knowledge gathering and integration of her Spiritual Gifts as tools for everyday life, the message from Donna’s Spirit Guidance became very clear and very consistent early on: knowledge gained is meaningless if not shared and that life is a process of renewal and healing.

To acknowledge the lessons of Spirit and to be true to her soul’s journey she understood she had to portion the joys of personal study and seek validation of her gifts to give confidence to those to whom she was to transfer the knowledge, wisdom and skills from Spirit.

Donna embarked on an intense four year seminary program offered by The Indiana Association of Spiritualists at the Chesterfield Center of Light and was fortunate to study privately with some of the nation’s top mediums and wonderful spiritual healers. Upon completion of the seminary program, Donna was certified as a medium and ordained as a minister by Chesterfield, one of the oldest existing Spiritualist centers in the US. Donna continues to serve the Chesterfield Seminary program as a guest teacher and maintains a warm relationship with mediums/teachers on the grounds and other graduates of the Chesterfield Seminary Program.

Rev. Donna achieved her Reiki Master/Teacher degree in 1998 and also studies various healing modalities. Her healing classes such as Reiki I-III and Vibrational Healing are always highly attended wherever offered.

Always seeking more knowledge, stronger ability, new understanding of the power of spiritual healing, and new teaching methodologies, Rev. Donna travels to spiritual organizations through out the world seeking advanced knowledge and an opportunity to pass on the knowledge she has gained. She has visited and taught in Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, the Caribbean and throughout the US.

Donna consults with clients across the US and abroad and offers development classes, workshops/seminars, consultations and circles. Although based in the Atlanta, Georgia area, Donna travels extensively as a minister, channel, psychic medium, healer, and teacher. The mother of two, Donna is a highly valued and accomplished senior manager and business consultant with over 30 years experience in the technical training and professional services arenas of Corporate America.

Rev. Donna was sanctioned as a Minister, Medium and Healer by the United Metaphysical Churches which she lovingly serves as a member of the Education Department, a staff educator, Newsletter Editor and Secretary of the National Board of Directors. Her energies are dedicated to the Seminary Program, adjunct educational programs and to providing understanding of Divine Metaphysics as a way of life and the pathway to personal spiritual growth.

THOSE WE MUST ACKNOWLEDGE:

Rev. F. Reed Brown, President of the United Metaphysical Churches headquartered in Roanoke, VA, an exceptional, well known and highly respected minister and medium, has been a friend and mentor in Divine Metaphysics and mediumship for many years. Rev. Brown, always generous in his support and his transfer of knowledge, has been an important influence. Reverends are educated, but the education doesn’t necessarily make them a good minister. Rev. F. Reed Brown is more than a good minister and Rev. Donna is grateful for his example.

Friendships serve as foundations in our life and the unselfish encouragement, mentoring, friendship and support of so many wonderful people have contributed to wealth of knowledge she has gained from each and every one who has helped open her doors of awareness , compassion and understanding. Gifts received from so many who have passed into the world of spirit but continue to nurture and educate her…with the understanding that knowledge gained disappears if it isn’t shared.

RELATED PURSUITS:

Private practice as a spiritual counselor, medium, trance channel, healer and teacher.

Delivers weekly and monthly spiritual education classes. These classes cover all areas of personal growth including mediumship, healing, metaphysics and meditation

Dedicated to all aspects spiritual growth and conscious integration of spiritual knowledge into daily life.

I was born in Chicago, where my family lived for eight years. A business transfer to New York City for my father found us living in Fairfield County in Connecticut. This began an early love of jumping horses in shows in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. After High School graduation I attended Morven Park International Equestrian Institute at the former United States Equestrian Team Combined Training facility on the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion in Leesburg, VA. Graduating with an “A” rating, I became a professional horseman and trained horses and riders for Combined Training, Hunters, Jumpers and Hunter Seat Equitation events around the tri-state area and later in Michigan, where I moved in 1977.

Metaphysics was always an unrecognized undercurrent in my life, having first heard Spirit as a young child after a close encounter with a car getting off a school bus.

In 1986 I began attending the First Spiritual Church of Bay City to begin formal study of my metaphysical experiences. Soon after joining, I was asked to be the church Board Secretary. I was certified by the United Metaphysical Churches as a Medium and Spiritual Healer in 1991. I moved up to Board President in 1998 and also the Pastor in 2002, after my UMC ordination in 2001.

Two years after being elected the local Board Secretary, I was appointed to a Trustee position on the United Metaphysical Churches Executive Board to fill a vacancy left by Rev. Joyce Dix. I served in that capacity from 1989 until 2008 when I was elevated to the position of Vice President. In addition, I was appointed as co-chair person of the UMC Education Department as well as teach in the UMC Seminary. My areas of expertise include Metaphysical Ethics, Modern Metaphysical Literature, Introductory Metaphysics and Viking Runes as a Divinational Tool.

In 1991 I married Roger W. Schlack, a Commercial Mechanical Contractor and reside with him at our horse farm in Dryden, MI. We raised and trained Percheron draft horses for showing in hitch classes and in hand until we retired from the show ring in 2007. We keep one mare, a home-bred from our “six-up” registered mare hitch, as a retiree.

When not at work for the Bay City congregation or UMC, I enjoy antiques, reading and container gardening. I still do the occasional riding clinic for some of my former students who now are themselves trainers.
